A Letter from Father Donley
Dear Saint Raphael Parish School, Graduates, Friends and Family,
Shortly after the announcement that I was to become the next Pastor of Saint Raphael Parish, I received an email from one of my cousins. It read “you should get a copy of this for your parish office!” When I opened the attachment, it was a picture of my grandfather's Saint Raphael School class of 1935! Well, you can believe that that picture now hangs proudly on my wall in the Parish Center. It is a constant reminder to me of the rich history our school has and a source of encouragement for me to do everything I can to help keep the tradition of excellence alive as we continue going forward into the second century of our existence.
While, as the Church teaches, the family is the first and essential cell of a healthy society, Saint Raphael School most certainly aims at providing a solid faith and virtue based education to help supplement what is being achieved in our youth's homes. It is our goal, with the help of this project, to continue doing this for a very long time. I thank you for your help as we continue to build upon the past, while moving into the future.
- Reverend Christopher D. Donley, Pastor
About Our Parish Project
With over 100 years of excellence in education, the goal of the Saint Raphael Next Century Excellence in Education Project is to build upon what has already been established. Over the last 100 years, Saint Raphael School has been educating the youth in the area in a faith-filled manner, preparing them for secondary education and for a life lived in service to God and to neighbor. We are now ready to take on the next century.
In order to do this, we are in need of your prayerful support. We invite you to join us and so many other proud Saint Raphael Alumni, friends and family to help us create a Saint Raphael School that will prepare our youth by way of Catholic education for the next 100 years.
Our Ask - We Need Your Help!
In September of 2015, the Saint Raphael School 100 Year Anniversary was celebrated. With over 300 alumni, friends and family taking part in the weekends festivities, there was plenty of time to catch up with old friends, make new ones, and tour the property. While touring the grounds, one alumni remarked, "...If they would only ask us for help, I am sure we would all pitch in and make this school great again."’ This remark was made after touring the third floor of the old high school building on Chislett street. Well, this is us asking!
In order to achieve our goals, we are in need of some serious repairs and maintenance...
