Saint Raphael Elementary School is as inclusive as possible in welcoming all students for whom we can provide an appropriate program based on their needs. We believe that every child can learn and learns at his or her own pace. Children in need of special support staff receive services from Title 1 or the Pittsburgh - Mt. Oliver Intermediate Unit #2 in order to help them learn and achieve at their level in accordance with the guidelines of the Diocese of Pittsburgh and the Diocesan Director of Individual Student Abilities. Grades 1 through 8 students who require additional assistance in reaching their academic goals, remedial math and reading services are provided with these services through the Pittsburgh - Mt. Oliver Intermediate Unit #2.
Students may be tested for Gifted Education programs through the Pittsburgh - Mt. Oliver Intermediate Unit #2.
Initially, all Saint Raphael students are tested for the speech and language program. Depending on the individual, remediation takes place in the areas of language development and/or articulation.
Speech and language services are provided by Pittsburgh - Mt. Oliver Intermediate Unit #2.
