Program Philosophy and Goals
Grounded in the belief that a quality after school program is more than simply babysitting, the Saint Raphael After School Enrichment Program (ASEP) is a program in which children have the opportunity to acquire new skills and broaden their educational experiences in a safe, comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. They may engage in indoor and outdoor physical games, receive homework assistance, small group individual tutoring, do math, science, craft activities,Lego Robotics and more while developing healthy social relationships with peers. Children in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8 are welcome to attend as little or as often as parents allow.
ASEP runs under the leadership of our Program Director, Eileen Hersh, with occasional assistance from Central Catholic High School's Youth Ministry students who come to help students with tutoring and activities from time to time.
ASEP Programming and Daily Schedule
Our program is designed to meet children’s needs and broaden their educational experiences in a safe, comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. The classroom is sectioned into different stations including a creative corner station, science station, “Brain Busters”, friends corner, and quiet reading areas. Stations change weekly to give children an opportunity to learn, create, and discover new ideas. Children are asked to bring a change of clothes and a snack. Monthly ASEP activity calendars are provided to registered families.
The general schedule is as follows:

Hours of Operation and Location
The ASEP is open from 2:30pm school dismissal until 6:00pm on school days. On scheduled school half days, the ASEP is open from dismissal (11:30am or 12:30pm) until 6:00pm. The program does not operate on school holidays or snow days.
The ASEP is located in the large classroom behind the multi-purpose room. Students have access to the multi-purpose room, the schoolyard and library with adult supervision at all times.
The registration period begins with each new school year. A completed ASEP Registration Form, an Emergency Medical Form, and a $10.00 non-refundable family registration fee is required to enroll in ASEP.
Each month, ASEP will publish an ASEP Activities Monthly Calendar. Parents are asked to simply Indicate the days and times your child(ren) will be attending ASEP and return these times with a check for the total tuition to school with your child.
